LANZAMIENTO DEL PROYECTO CODISAVA / KICK-OFF OF CODISAVA PROJECT

In the present year 2018, CTA started working on the project CODISAVA: “Advanced distributed control for the security and energetic efficiency in aeronautical transport”, within the ELKARTEK 2018 calling, funded by the Basque Country Government. AEROTRESNAK is a strategic project of fundamental collaborative research in which five different research groups take part:

TECNALIA RESEARCH & INNOVATION (líder), CEIT-IK4, CTA (The Aeronautical Technologies Centre), TECNUN (Universidad de Navarra Escuela Superior de Ingenieros) y UPV/EHU (Departamento de Ciencias de la Computación e Inteligencia Artificial).

The project CODISAVA aims at setting a knowledge base on new control strategies and distributed hardware-software architectures. In the future these technologies will be key in the next aircraft models, increasing the safety and energetic efficiency. This project lasts two years and will provide diverse development related to energetic control which will be available and will benefit the aeronautical companies (among others) located in the Basque Country.

CIERRE DE ANUALIDAD 2017 EN PROYECTO ACTIMAT / CONCLUSSION OF TASKS FOR 2017 PERIOD IN ACTIMAT PROJECT

CTA has ended the activities planned in 2017 within the ACTIMAT project of the ELKARTEK call.
During this period CTA has carried out different tests aimed at the characterization of different materials developed by the members of the ACTIMAT consortium.

The tests carried out consisted of low and high speed tests, carried out using different impact benches existing at CTA (Simavant test bench and impact cannon). These test benches were used to impact different panels manufactured during the project in order to study their behavior against impact, using Infrared thermography.

During 2017, CTA has started working on the ambitious project AEROTRESNAK: “Smart Fixture for large Aeronautical Components based on Industrie 4.0”, within the ELKARTEK 2017 calling, funded by the Basque Country Government. AEROTRESNAK is a strategic project of fundamental collaborative research in which six different research groups take part:
The Aeronautical Technologies Centre (leader), the Advanced Manufacturing Group FAR (UPV/EHU – Mechanical Engineering), Applied Photonics Group APG (UPV/EHU –Telecommunications), Advanced Control Group GCA (UPV/EHU – Engineering Systems and Automation), MONDRAGON GOI ESKOLA POLITEKNIKOA (EPS-MU) and TECNALIA.
The main goal of this project is the development of diverse technologies, which will be merged in a new concept of smart fixture design for large aeronautical components. The research will be focused on light, versatile, modular and reconfigurable architectures, where there will be integrated the actuation and monitoring systems in order to real-time control the processes of manufacturing, assembling and testing of aeronautical components. This project lasts two years and will provide diverse future technologies which will be available and will benefit the aeronautical companies (among others) located in the Basque Country.
